"Champagne and Chandeliers"

I just wanted to share with you today two events .... it is the 200th anniversary of the gorgeous champagne house Perrier Jouet which was created in 1811 by the marriage of Pierre Nicholas Perrier and Adele Jouet ......
the most prestigious and my personal favourite Cuvee Belle Epoque was created in 1902 and was hallmarked by the gorgeous label of the Japanese "anemones".

Secondly, this is the gorgeous "Bernadette O'Shea" who wrote the much coveted book "Champagne and Chandeliers" and has just recently been voted the "Best in World" at Gourmand Awards..  she won "Best French Wine Book" of 2010.  Congratulations Bernadette ...  I was supposed to be at the dinner tonight in Brisbane but a nasty flu prevented me ... much to my great disappointment ...

I hope you all have a fabulous evening full of beautiful memories and delicious bubbles ....

This is my version to celebrate for you .....

Gorgeous pages from Bernadette's book ....

Congratulations Bernadette on an amazing talent ....

I am signing up to your next class ......
best wishes
M. A. the 2nd!

and my own.

BTW I must find her book. I'm known as the "Champagne Girl!" Love wine, but have many allergic reactions. I only drink hard alcohol on rare occasions. But champagne! Day or night, with sweet or savory, I adore it.

Dear Frances,
Sorry to hear you are unwell & missed out on a lovely evening drinking Perrier Jouet. In my early twenties I was the assistant wine buyer at Harrods for 4 years & have a diploma of wines so I have a real passion for French Champagne. We had a lot of pretty special champagne bottles hitting our tasting tables but I must say that the Belle Epoque has to be the prettiest. Very excited about your impeding trip to Melbourne & would love to catch up - I am sure you have a long list of things you would like to do - there's plenty of great design inspiration in Melbourne. I hope you start feeling better soon.

Most lovely and stunning friend,

I so loved your comment to me last night; yes, our searching, our dreams, our desires for peace and paradise indicate to me that we are more than just this temporary flesh, though exciting and wonderful as it can be. I love your insight and the story about theh 94 year old socialite! NOW THAT IS HOW TO BE !!!!! Yes, if I am granted that much time, or at least as long as my dear old dad (82), I want to live and love with an ACTIVE mind!!! What a woman she must be; I must look her up. Oh dearest, we are loving our sweet home, now a bit bigger, we feel like we live in a small castle!!!! AND THE SETTEE, what a dream dear heart. NOW IS JUST NEED ME A BOTTLE OF PINK CHAMPAGNE AND I AM SET!!!!! Hey, our birthdays are coming....we shall celebrate. I will be posting a special APRIL birthday blog in honor of all the April babies.....be well my dear, and come by anytime.

GROSSES BISES, Anita
