"Beautiful Interiors" ~ "The Ritz" Paris

I took these photos in 2008 on our trip to France. We stayed at The Ritz and it was incredible. The marble, chandeliers, drapes, rugs and flower arrangements were truly spectacular! The entry hall and subsequent lounge salons filled with Louis chairs and gorgeous gilt mirrors and chandeliers were breathtaking.
Our rooms were very large and we had a little Romeo and Juliet balcony of our very own which overlooked the Vendome Gardens. The rich tapestry of colour, fabric and gilding with fabulous architectural detailing was so inspiring. I was looking at these photos recently and couldn't believe how much Georgiana has grown up since this trip!
More photos to come.... am posting more this afternoon!
Have a beautiful day everyone!

The Ritz is so pretty, isn't it? Along with the Plaza Athenee it's my favorite hotel in Paris.

OMG, I just love your blog! Just found you since you've joined mine. It's so classically beautiful, like you and your daughter. I think we both like pink. I LOVE the 18th Century. I think that is why I majored in French. I had fantasies of living in a old 18th Century building with an aristocratic husband, painting and listening to opera. Well, I ended up in suburban LA with a mid-western hubby...but I still paint and listen to opera. Can't wait to go through your whole blog!

Thank-you so much for your lovely comments. The 18th century has always been a fascination of mine and particularly French 18th century. I use to dream about marrying an aristocrat as well even though I lived in Australia I use to devour all the English classics but also loved the Georgette Heyer books as a teenager... there would always be the brooding arrogant Lord or Duke hovering in the background of the heroine of the story. You must know a great deal if you majored in French... it must have been incredible to study it. I did end up marrying an incredible man but he isn't artistocratic but very gorgeous! We have been married for 22 years. I remember visitng Versailles for the first time when I was 20 years old....it haunted me then and I am still obsessed with it now. I have visited 3 times over the years and it is never enough!
I would love it if you wanted to follow me as I am so excited about making your acquaintance. Thank-you for visiting and I would like to get to know you more.
Best wishes
Frances
