"Louis Love"

Whilst looking for a "coral" inspired fabric I stumbled across this gorgeous Louis chair upholstered in one of Waverly's new collections. The top picture is a Waverly coral print which I love and the Louis chair is as always fabulous. "Old World Charm" is the name of this collection. The chair here is a Louis the 16th style due to the straight reeded legs which follow the Roman columns from the classical Roman period. Neo-classical style became popular towards the end of the 18th century. Louis the 15th style was evident in the early part of the 18th century from the 1730's ...... more to come! Have a beautiful Friday! image www.waverly.com

Ahhh....bonjour ma reine, Marie! This is heaven on earth dearest! The blue is perfect. I was just thinking about the color coral! I am drinking up all this fabulous blue, aqua, turquoise, and seafoam that is surrounding us lately! I am using just hints of it in my studio. My husband just bought me not one, not two, not three but a set of FOUR Louis chairs!!! We went to a great antique store in the area yesterday, and lo and behold, there they were, in the perfect light colored wood with a hint of white wash.....the upholstery is fine, a muted green tapestry, but my desire is to at least reupholster two of them in white linen!!! I am going to make a little pillow like the one pictured above.

BLISSSSSS!!!!!! Have a marvelous weekend my queen!

I'm with you, I love louis chairs and I'm planning on covering one for my study in a pink spot by Laura ashley. I can't wait. I also love blue, as you know, and hopefully I'll get some blue toile happening somewhere.Fiona

Oh dearest M.A.! How lovely to see you come by and leave a sweet comment...I also clicked on your COASTAL blog and wow, I really need to visit your there from now on as well; the colors and the coolness, especially during these hot months of ours is really beautiful and refreshing! Thank you for your enthusiasm about my LOUIS CHAIRS!!! I am so happy with them! Our building project is coming soon, for our builder is finishing up with a project before us, then we break ground around September!!!

I hope you are having a wonderful end of winter, and that your summer will be lovely!
